This fundraising event is in support of self-help projects of TITLIP, The Involvement of Teachers Living Positively of Webuye and Uzima Women Group of Butere which are both grassroots organizations based in rural Kenya among communities that are infected or affected by HIV/AIDS. In the Kenyan spirit of Harambee (Let's pull together), members of Abeingo Association Canada decided at theirĀ  recent annual general meeting to show their solidarity and support for these communities by dedicating this special dinner to support and honor them. All the proceeds from the event will be donated to the two groups. The AIDS crisis is still decimating generations of communities in Africa away from the glare of the Western media.
